He's not a bad guy from my experience, but unreachable by e-mail, and not always able to get stuff done right away over the phone. It's a lot easier if you can go there in person (which you can't) so your best bet is to get ahold of him on a not-so-busy day, and ask him to take care of it with you on the phone. And yes, there's no point trying to go over Chris' head, he's the owner ;)
